Difference between n-type and p-type semiconductor

n-type semiconductor:

Electrons are the majority carriers and holes are the minority carriers. Such extrinsic semiconductor is called negative-type or n-type semiconductor.

p-type semiconductor:

It is an intrinsic semiconductor doped with trivalent impurity, holes are the majority carriers and electrons are the minority carriers. Such extrinsic semiconductor is called positive-type or p-type semiconductor.
