Newton’s Law of Motion:
With the urge to understand clearly the cause of motion. Newton worked extensively on the problem of rest and motion of bodies and put forward the results of his work in the front of three laws in the year 1687. These laws are known as Newton’s Laws of Motion which laid the foundation of classical Mechanics. Three of Newton’s Laws are as follows:
Newton’s first law:
“Everybody continues to be in the state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless it is compelled by some external force to change that state”.
Newton’s second law:
“The rate of change of momentum of a body is directly propositional to the applied force and takes place in the direction in which the force acts”.
Newton’s third law:
“To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”.
